History of the Department of theory and methodology of Physical Culture

         In July 2011, by the decision of the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the South Kazakhstan State Pedagogical Institute was established. On its basis, a number of faculties in popular specialties began to operate. Among them is the Faculty of" Sports and art". The dean of the faculty was appointed candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Temirkhanov M. T., The Department of Physical Culture and sports actively worked as part of the faculty. Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor N. B. Shegenbayev, managing it, made a great contribution to its formation and future development as an independent and Integral Link.

         In 2013, the faculty was reorganized and renamed the Faculty of Physical Education and military training. The management of the updated structure was entrusted to the candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor K. Nakhanov. As for the department, it was also affected by changes. The Department of Physical Culture and primary military training was headed by candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor U. zh.Turyskulov.

         From 2015 to 2018, the department was part of the professional and creative faculty. Since September 2018, a new faculty of Physical Culture and Sports has been created. Its Dean is candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor U. zh.Turyskulov. The faculty was divided into two departments: "physical education and primary military training" and "Physical Education".  The head of the Department" physical education and primary military training " was appointed candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor a.m. Ispandiyarova. Since September 1, 2021, the Department of Physical Education and primary military training has been divided into the Departments of" theory and methodology of Physical Culture "and" primary military training and Physical Culture "due to the increase in the number of students enrolled in the educational program 6b1402 - "training of a teacher of Physical Culture and sports".

 Currently, the department employs 31 people. Of these, 2 - candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, 5 - candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, 3 - candidate of Biological Sciences, 1 - PhD, Senior Lecturer, 4 - honored coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, associate professor, 7 - Master, senior teachers, 9 - teachers. The scientific potential of the department is 50%.

          The Department prepares Bachelors of education and masters of scientific and pedagogical direction in the following educational programs:

1. 6b01402 - "training of a teacher of Physical Culture and sports"

2. 7m01402 - "training of a teacher of Physical Culture and sports"

The staff of the department contributes to the training of highly qualified, competitive and well-known international standards in the labor market. At the same time, students and graduates actively participate in the Asian and World Championships and achieve significant results in the field of sports. Undoubtedly, their victories are the achievements of all close employees of the department and faculty.
